Vasco Urbano Wine Company was created to showcase the exceptional Rhone style wines that are being grown and produced here in the Livermore Valley. We believe that the Livermore Valley’s unique terroir is perfectly suited for the Rhone varieties Grenache, Syrah, Mourvedre and Petite Sirah. In addition, we source fruit from other prime growing regions throughout the Central Coast in the spirit of the traveling artist Vasco Urbano Louriero. Together these wines represent our efforts to produce World Class Rhone style wines here in the Livermore Valley.

Tasting Notes

The wonderful thing about muscat is that it’s one of the only wines that smell like grapes! Scents of candied apricot, white flower and crushed herbs transport you to the vineyard, and to our cellar during crush. Just off-dry, the slight sweetness of this wine helps accentuates the fruit yet still has enough acidity to remain balanced and vibrant throughout the palate. Light bodied and lively, with crisp citrus, orange peel, and grapefruit on the finish. To label simply as a summer-time sipper, would be a drastic understatement to this versatile wine, perfect all year round!

Production

Arrived to the winery on August 23rd and pressed whole-cluster. The juice was fermented in stainless steel under glycol at low temperatures with no ml conversion. The wine was barreled in 100% stainless steel drums and bottled after 4 months.
