The perfect crowd pleasing blend for any occasion. Ralphi’s is soft, supple and delicious and meant to be enjoyed over good times with good friends. Red berry fruit and cocoa lead the way and are met with vibrant fleshy tones of blueberry cobbler and a touch of coffee. Warning: It is not uncommon to grab a second bottle.
In 2012 the Cabernet Sauvignon portion of the Ralphi’s Red came from our friend Julio at Casa De Vinas and the Merlot came from Triska Crane Ridge. These vineyards have been vital components to our winemaking program for years and work together in perfect harmony to make a classic Bordeaux-Style Blend.
The grapes were harvested between October 1st and 17th of 2012. We take many approaches to our Cabernet Sauvignon program. In the vineyard we have different farming strategies to best capture the nuances of specific sites. When the fruit arrives at the winery we implement numerous fermentation techniques and many different cooperages are used for aging to give us a complex array of blending components. Of the several hundred barrels of Cabernet Sauvignon produced each vintage, we hand selected three as the perfect base for Ralphi’s and were blended with two barrels of Merlot from Triska Crane Ridge.
