In 2009, The Cranor family embarked on a journey to produce world class Cabernet Sauvignon and small lots of other varieties that thrive in the Livermore Valley. Situated at the gateway to California’s oldest grape growing region, Nottingham Cellars is a realization of that dream. Jeff Cranor’s vision of producing world class wines from this under-appreciated growing region has come full circle. Following in the footsteps of some of the area’s finest Cabernet producers, Nottingham Cellars has had a major impact in the Livermore Valley, and the California Wine Scene.

With his 27 year old son Collin (youngest winemaker in the region) overseeing winemaking operations, Nottingham Cellars is spearheading a quality movement in the Valley that is being felt nationwide. Garnering countless medals and 90+ point scores from major wine publications, Nottingham Cellars has earned a place among the top ranking wineries in California.

The addition of his eldest son Patrick in late 2011 has also been a significant factor in Nottingham Cellars’ rapid growth. Patrick has brought his background in management and retail wine sales to help us focus our tasting room experience, as well as grow our accounts in the greater bay area. Patrick, also a sommelier, and has raised the bar in our winemaking program by assisting in taste trials and blending.
