2009 Casa De Vinas Cabernet Sauvignon
The intense black fruit with sharp, bright ripe red fruit nuances are signature of Casa De Vinas. Aromas of fresh baked blackberry pie buried in toasty smoky vanilla are followed by a rush of the ripe black fruit, cinnamon, chocolate and tobacco on the pallet. Its gripping tannin structure and intense dryness result in a long dramatic finish. This vineyard produces Cabernet that is 3 dimensional on its own. Certainly there is plenty of body and structure to suggest age-ability of at least 5-10 years. A splash decant goes a long way. If you have the patience, open and decant a full hour or two to reveal additional layers.
